About Pencil Otter
We make printable activity books for children aged 3–12, for two moments that come up in every family: a long drive and a day stuck at home. Each book is made for one child, around their age and what they love.
Who we are
Pencil Otter is a small team. The legal seller is Digital Solutions, based in North Macedonia, and Paddle handles payments as our Merchant of Record. Questions go to contact@pencilotter.com, and a person answers.
How a book is made
You tell us the age, a few interests and anything else you like. Our own software chooses and lays out the pages for that age: puzzle sizes, word lists and reading pages all change with it. You see 4 real pages before you pay.
Every puzzle can be solved
Mazes, sudoku and crosswords are generated fresh for each book, and automatic checks make sure every maze has exactly one route and every sudoku exactly one answer.
Our own artwork
Every picture in the books is drawn for Pencil Otter, and we keep a record of where each one comes from. No clip art, no characters from films or games.
Checked words and pages
Word lists, prompts and stories are written and reviewed by us before they go into books, and each word search is checked so no unwanted word appears by accident among the letters. Pages are designed to print well in black and white.
Your child’s details
We ask for an age and interests; a first name, a pet and favorite things are optional. We never ask for a birthday, gender or a photo of a person, and details are deleted on a fixed schedule. The privacy notice has the full detail.
